The following cities guide will be Minneapolis, Minnesota, one of the healthiest and happiest cities in the U.S. (Have you ever been?) We reached out to Michelle LeBlanc, the founder of the gorgeous mile boutique Mile, to share her secrets to success and a some recommendations from across the river to St. Paul…

There are several places to discover and learn more about this place. So, if you’re visiting and taking flights to Minneapolis, then take a stroll of the entire city and find out what’s hidden in those tiny bustling streets. Also, book your tickets with Lowest Flight Fare to avail impressive deals.

Michelle LeBlanc: I was shocked when my husband told me that he planned to relocate to Austin (where I lived for the majority of my childhood, and also my grandparents and parents come from) to the cold snowy Minneapolis I'll just say that I was less than thrilled. After 15 years, I'm not a huge fan of winter, however I could effortlessly be a rhapsodic about the different aspects that life is like in these twin cities. The peonies that bloom in the spring, the summer excursions to the rugged beaches of Lake Superior, the fall days spent at the orchard of apples. Here's a tiny portion of my favorite photos from the area in which we're parenting our children…

Where to eat

To get fresh seafood, head for Sea Salt Eatery (open April through the end of October) situated in Minnehaha Park. The tacos made with scallops and clams are well worth the wait in long lines and the playground and park makes it the perfect place to pass a lazy Sunday afternoon. (You can also stroll across to the stunning 50 feet Minnehana Falls.) We've often stopped by on rainy nights, also, to avoid the crowds. It's warmer and more comfortable when we do. The spring season doesn't officially begin at our house until the location is open.

To experience a new perspective on Minnesota's nordic roots, check out The Bachelor Farmer located in an old brick and timber warehouse with a farm on the roof. We're in love with toasts (think fresh cow's-milk cheese, bacon-onion-jam and fruit Compote) as well as the casual 3-course dinners on Sundays. Drink a cocktail at Marvel Bar The lounge for cocktails that's located underneath the restaurant. There's an olive to. Olive to is my absolute favorite drinkIt's made from olive oil (! ) lemon egg whites, as well as Licor 43.

For comfort food, visit Revival in Kingfield. Their delicious baked chicken and delicious melt-in-your-mouth biscuits are sure to satisfy anyone who wants Chef Thomas Boemer's southern-inspired dishes. Take the crisp and light Hush Puppies to share with your guests.

For a Parisian bistro vibe, try St. Genevieve located in Lynnhurst. It's a beautiful and warm spot to hang out with your friends. Try a Marc Herbert rose, pommes frites, and some of the tartines (or open-faced sandwiches) and tasty toppings such as raclette cheese, puréed pears and smoked salmon. You can also get snails.

AREA TO HANG

Discover the amazing art of todaySee amazing modern art - Chuck Close, Edward Hopper, Yves Klein, you can name it in the Walker Art Center located in Lowry Hill East. The atmosphere is relaxed and you're welcome to bring your kids. Additionally, beginning in May it will be nine holes of mini golf hole located on the roof that will include a massive hot dogand ping-pong paddling as well as an incredibly difficult chicken coop.

The American Swedish Institute located in Phillips West is one of my most cherished Minnesota landmarks. The castle, built in the turn of the century, has 13 rooms that are elaborate, including 11 porcelain stoves, and intricate woodwork throughout. It's particularly beautiful during the holiday season because the decorations symbolize the customs from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. Stop by their Swedish café Fika afterwards for better-than-your-grandma's meatballs.

It is the Norseman Distillery in Northeast Minneapolis uses local ingredients for small amounts of fine spirits like vodka, gin and rum. Enjoy a tour on weekends and then have a drink in the gorgeous cocktail bar. Also, they have the greatest toilet wallpaper ever that was created using hilarious pictures from Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss.

The trails that   through Minneapolis are fantastic for cycling. The city is frequently named as a top destination for cyclists throughout the U.S. There are more than 190 Nice Ride bicycle stations throughout the twin cities. You can hire a bicycle and take it back to any Nice Ride location, then explore the Chain of Lakes (four of the biggest lake systems in Minneapolis that have 13 miles of paths that run along their shores) for a relaxing ride. I would recommend stopping on Lake Harriet Bandshell. Lake Harriet Bandshell where you can purchase truffle corn from Bread and Pickle and listen to some free music, and let your kids play in the playground.

Minnetonka Orchards located in proximity, Minnetrista is the place we go to for apple picking during the fall and late summer. Donuts made of apples and a corn maze baby animals, and Hay rides, it covers everything. We also enjoy the blueberry picking in summer in the Rush River Produce close to Stockholm, WI. The location overlooking Lake Pepin is worth the one-hour drive.

How to Purchase

It would be irresponsible of me not to speak about my store, Mille in Tangletown which is where you'll find fashionable womenswear, beauty and household products. We specialize in emerging, small-scale brands, often founded by women who are indie-minded like Ulla Johnson Xirena and Beatrice Valenzuela. We also host regular events that highlight our best local craftsmen of jewelry and pottery such the likes of Annika Kaplan, and Laura Vest Klein.

Retro Wanderlust is located in Hopkins is a treasure trove of vintage furniture and mid-century pieces, including beautiful glassware and unusual light fixtures. The inventory is constantly changing and that's why I'm always looking through the Instagram feed frequently. Karen, the proprietor, Karen is also very helpful when looking for something. While looking for an ottoman, she came across the most gorgeous pink velvet sofa she thought we'd love. She sent us a photograph and then delivered the sofa to the store within a matter of minutes to pick it up.

Wild Rumpus bookstore near Lake Harriet is a kid's fantasy. They not just have a wide selection of books, but there are Chinchillas too, as well as cats Trini Lopez. They also have fluffy chickens at the shop!

Where to stay

Hotel Ivy in Downtown West is a five-minute drive away from the Walker Art Center. It's modern, spacious and most importantly each room is equipped with an enormous soak tub.

I've not yet stayed here, however, it's a nice place to stay. Covington Inn is an enticing bed-and-breakfast floating set in a restored 1946 towboat. Near the downtown area of St. Paul, the boat is docked on an attractive spot along the Mississippi River. The deck at the top is a great place to enjoy downtown St. Paul's stunning skyline.

Be on the lookout for the coming boutique hotel with six rooms, which is being built by James Beard award-winning chef Alex Roberts. The hotel is being constructed on top of his loved Alma Restaurant. Alma. If the restaurant is anything similar to his previous ventures, it's bound to be a wonderful location to visit.

Take some time to explore the splendid attractions of this place, and make your trip worthwhile. While booking your flights to Marbella, don’t just fool around restaurants and tall buildings. Instead, take a good note of what’s under the table.
